CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2004, LONDON
The developers of The Knightsbridge, London asked us to showcase a smaller version of its garden square, the first to be built in central London for 125 years, at the Chelsea Flower Show 2004, where it was awarded a Silver-Gilt Flora.
A huge granite cube with a raw almost untouched front façade and chiselled sides stands as the centrepiece, punctuating a water canal. Water emanates from its upper surface and cascades downwards: the chiselled sides create ripples that capture the light, while the raw granite façade channels a dramatic white wall of foaming water.
We collaborated with glass mosaic artist Shelagh Wakely who created ripple like waves of sparkling glass inlaid into the gardens floorscape.
